Djibouti, with the strategically location on the northeast coast of the Horn of Africa. It is situated on the Bab el Mandeb Strait, which lies to the east and separates the Red Sea from the Gulf of Aden.
The following is an overview of what you need to know when flying to Djibouti:
Military or Civil Side
Camp Lemonnier is located at Djibouti Airport. Prior Permission Required PPR, is required for all military aircraft. Limited parking and maintenance facility is available. Request PPR through air Ops a min of 72 Hrs prior ETA.
All civil aircraft landing at Djibouti Airport requires a landing permission from Djibouti Civil Aviation Authority DCAA. The application must include all flight details, purpose and aircraft docs and sent at least 3 working days from the day of operation.
Airport Operation
Djibouti Airport civil and military apron Camp Lemonnier is open 24 hours.
Ground Handling, Fueling, other Services.
Ground handling is available for all aircraft types. Fuel (Jet-A-1 and AVGAS) is available at JIB/ HDAM Airport. Catering can be arranged from 5 stars hotel in town. VIP lounge is available. Sonic Jet team can arrange Meet & Assist, visa arrangement upon request at civil terminal. Djibouti city has a verity of hotels. Avoid city center which is crowded.
Crew GENDEC and Visa
All crew can enter for 72 hours on Gendec on condition that they carry their passports and airline IDs, their names are on a stamped GenDec, and coming with airlines uniform. Visa on arrival is possible for most nationalities.
